We spent the last few days in Zanzibar as "ordinary" tourists staying in a small beach hotel on Kendwa beach at the north western shore. We had heavy monsoon rains mixed with bright sunshine and there was time for reading as well as swiming and walking. We also made a fantastic dhow tour to snorcle at the coral reaf outside Mnemba island outside the north eastern shore of Zanzibar. It was an awsome experience ( the first time for me to snorcle in tropical waters). Like swiming inside a huge aquarium. Lots of fish all around us. And impressive corals.
I left Zanzibar a day before Lotta and Anne to stay on my own for a night in Dar es Salaam before flying back. Everything went smoothly and unadventurously.
I am back in a grey and rainy Liverpool, trying to keep some of the warm and relaxed feeling within me, cherishing the memories of the hot air, blue skye, red dust, and smiling people that have surrounded me for the past month.
